Title:
FLUID MACHINERY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3455586
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce a loss due to the surface roughness of a component of fluid machinery by forming an ordered, fine, sharp-edged groove on the surface of the component and extending the groove structure predominantly in the flow direction.
CONSTITUTION: An impeller 2 having plural blades 3 is disposed in a casing 1. The blades 3 are disposed between a bearing disc 4 for transmitting energy and a covering disc 5. The stationary casing wall surfaces 6, 7 are positioned opposite to the covering disc 5. Especially, ordered, fine sharp-edged groove structures 9, 10 are formed on the surface with which fluid comes into contact, and the groove structures 9, 10 are extended predominantly in the flow direction. The groove cross section determined by the groove width and groove height is order of μm2. Thus, the surface which comes into contact with a rotating fluid can be formed with minimum loss in the fluid machinery. Similarly, the surface can be formed by a stationary casing wall surface or a rotary impeller wall surface to the longitudinal flow of a fluid.
