Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately and inexpensively measure a moving speed of particles within a short time.SOLUTION: A fluid measuring instrument comprises a minute flow passage 7 covered with a transparent plate 8 that scatters light, a laser light source 1 which irradiates a fluid in the minute flow passage 7 with laser light through the transparent plate 8, a photodetector 2 which receives light scattered by the transparent plate 8 and light scattered by particles contained in a fluid and converts the received light into an electric signal, frequency measuring means which measures the frequency of a beat signal included in the electric signal obtained by the photodetector 2, and speed calculation means which calculates a moving speed of particles from the frequency of the beat signal measured by the frequency measuring means.
