Abstract:
PURPOSE: To use a valve for either a normally-open valve or a normally-close valve by providing a valve stem with a groove for receiving a retainer ring and the thick-walled portion of its bonnet with a groove for receiving a snap ring.
CONSTITUTION: A valve stem 80 is formed with a groove 138, in which a retainer ring 136 is fitted, and a bonnet 50 is provided on its thick-walled portion 88 with a snap ring 58. A spring 130 is thus selectively retainable on the retainer ring 136 or snap ring 58 so that the valve can be used for either a normally-open valve or a normally-closed valve.
