PURPOSE: To automate the fitting/removing work and improve its efficiency by automatically fitting or removing a finger assembly holding a work to or from a chuck main body fitted to an industrial machine such as an assembling robot.
CONSTITUTION: When a finger assembly 2 is to be automatically fitted to a chuck main body 1, end sections 9a, 9a of a pair of joint levers 9, 9 rockably fitted to the chuck main body 1 are excited inward, and coupling pins 10, 10 protruded on the joint levers 9, 9 are coupled with a coupling hole 25 provided on the finger assembly 2 in the wedge shape on the inside, from a pivotally fitted section. When the finger assembly 2 is to be automatically removed from the chuck main body 1, outward exciting force is applied to the joint levers 9, 9 against the exciting force of springs 14, 14 by lever opening pistons 12, 12, and the coupling between the coupling pins 10, 10 and coupling hole 25 is released.
