Abstract:
The apparatus modulates uniformly the flow of fluid through a generally annular orifice 36, e.g. in the cooling air path of a gas turbine engine, and comprises a member 24 having the orifice 36 therethrough and a valve ring 38 movable axially to open and close the orifice. The valve ring 38 may be hinged by links 48 to extensions of member 24. Additional openings in member 24 permit a minimum flow of fluid when valve ring 38 is in the closed position abutting the member.
