Abstract:
The invention relates to a hydrodynamic retarder comprising a housing, a stator in a stator housing, a rotor in a rotor housing, whereby at least the stator housing and the rotor housing form a hydrodynamic retarder working room. Said retarder also comprises an outlet for emptying the retarder and a discharge valve. The invention is characterised in that means are provided for specifically emptying the space between the outlet and the discharge valve.
