Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the subject fluid, consisting essentially of a specific tricyclohexylalkane and a specified dicyclohexylalkane, improved in the traction coefficient and causing extremely slight deterioration thereof, especially at high temperatures and suitable as an automotive speed change gear, etc.

CONSTITUTION: This fluid consists essentially of (A) a compound of formula I (Q1 to Q4 are each a 1-3C alkyl; R1 to R5 are each H or a 1-3C alkyl) such as 2,4,6-tricyclohexyl-2,4-dimethylheptane and (B) a compound of formula II (Q5 to Q7 are each Q1; R6 to R8 are each R1) such as 2,4-dicyclohexyl-2- methylpentane. Furthermore, the blending ratio of the components (A) to (B) based on the total amount of the components (A) and (B) is 5-50wt.%, preferably 5-35wt.% component (A).
