PURPOSE: To enhance a traction coefficient at high temperatures, by employing a decalin derivative, wherein a group selected from a cyclohexylalkyl group and a cyclohexyl group is linked to a decalin ring, as a fluid for traction drive.
CONSTITUTION: In this fluid for traction drive, the three following types of decalin derivatives (i), (ii) and (iii) are used individually or in combination: (i) a derivative to the ring of which at least two cyclohexylalkyl groups are linked; (ii) a derivative to the ring of which at least two cyclohexyl groups are linked and (iii) a derivative to the ring of which at least one cyclohexylalkyl group and at least one cyclohexyl group are linked. Among the decalin derivatives, compounds represented by formula I are particularly preferable (in the formula, R1WR8 represents each hydrogen or a 1W4C alkyl group; p, q, r and s are each an integer of 1W3; m and n are each an integer of 0W3 and the sum of both integers is 2 or 3).
