To improve a fault that a conventional fluid transmission device has the necessity for applying gear-cutting processing to the external peripheral end of a turbine hub using a hob or the like in order to fit the external peripheral end of the turbine hub to the internal peripheral end of a driven plate, thus causing an increase in manufacturing cost.
A torque converter 10 by this invention comprises: an input-side rotation element A connected with an input member; an output-side rotation element B which includes a turbine shell 22 for holding a turbine blade 21 and a turbine hub 15 whose external peripheral end is connected to the internal peripheral end of the turbine shell 22, and whose output member is connected to the turbine hub 15; and a lock-up clutch device C which is connected to the output-side rotation element B via spline couplings, and includes a lock-up piston 17 which can be integrally connected to the input-side rotation element A. The torque converter also comprises a male spline part 22a in which the turbine shell 22 of the output-side rotation element B defines one of the spline couplings.
