To give hysteresis to a damper device, generated with a change in the output torque of an engine, while desirably changing it depending on the operating condition of a vehicle.
A torque converter 10 has an input side rotary element A, an output side rotary element B including a turbine hub 15, a lock-up clutch device C including a lock-up piston 17 connected to the output side rotary element B, and the damper device D arranged over between a driving plate 31 connected to the lock-up piston 17 and a driven plate 32 connected to the turbine hub 15 and including a coil spring 33 to be elastically deformed with these relative rotation. It comprises a compression spring member 35 connected at one end to the lock-up piston 17, and a friction member 34 mounted at the other end of the compression spring member 35 and adapted to be pushed against the driven plate 32 and put in sliding contact with the driven plate 32 with the rotation relative to the driven plate 32.
