To provide a fluid transmission device having a lockup mechanism capable of efficiently increasing the temperature of working oil when the temperature of the working oil circulated in a fluid transmission mechanism is low.
The fluid transmission device 1 is provided with: a discharge passage 4 for discharging working oil supplied to a torque converter 3; a supply passage 2 for pressurizing the working oil discharged from the discharge passage 4 and supplying the working oil to the torque converter 3; a clutch selector valve 6 making the torque converter 3 communicate with the discharge passage 4 when turned off and blocking the communication of the torque converter 3 with the discharge passage 4 when turned on; and an oil pressure regulating valve 8 for controlling the oil pressure of the working oil introduced to a clutch release side oil chamber 3i with respect to the oil pressure of the working oil introduced to a clutch engagement side oil chamber 3h when the clutch selector valve 6 is turned on. At the low temperature of the working oil, the clutch selector valve 6 is turned on and the pressure difference of the working oil in a circulation passage is controlled by the oil pressure regulating valve 8. Thus, the circulation passage of the working oil can be shortened, and the circulation of the working oil flowing in the circulation passage can be suppressed.
