The device includes a fluid transmission unit 20 capable of transmitting power transmitted to an input member 10 to an output member 50 through and operating fluid; a lockup clutch unit 30 capable of transmitting the power transmitted to the input member 10 to the output member 50 through a frictional engagement unit 32 including a pair of friction surfaces 35, 36 which are frictionally engaged with each other; and a torque cam unit 40 which generates an engagement pressing force for making the pair of friction surfaces 35, 36 frictionally engaged with each other according to the torque transmitted through the fluid transmission unit 20 in an operating state that the fluid transmission unit 20 amplifies torque inputted to the input member 10 and outputs it from the output member 50.
