Title:
FLUID TRANSMITTING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH039127
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To keep the circulation amount of fluid without degrading the strength of an impeller outer shell by having a ring shield 21 arranged in an adjacent manner to the inner periphery side of an impeller blade and shielded with an oil passage only left to prevent heating.

CONSTITUTION: When an impeller 2 is rotated via a front cover 1 with the rotation of an engine, fluid in an impeller blade 15 moves to a turbine side due to centrifugal force and flows in a turbine blade 14 to the center to rotate a turbine 3, and then flows into the impeller 2 again. A ring shield 21 is arranged in an adjacent manner to the inner periphery side of the impeller blade 15 to shield the inner periphery side of the impeller blade 15 with a heat preventive oil passage only left and prevent fluid, circulated between the turbine 3 and the impeller 2, from being leaked to the outside of a tourus 11. The mounted shield 21 can increase the strength of an impeller outer shell 13. It is thus possible to improve the efficiency of torque transmission and prevent the transformation of the impeller outer shell.
