PURPOSE: To provide a fluid type brake device in which brake force is automatically changes according to movement of a drive member or rotary speed and which can turn at 360° and a gate using the same.

CONSTITUTION: A rotary shaft 5 a tip part of which is projecting from a top face of a housing with liquid-tightly sealed is mounted turnable in a central part of a cylindrical housing 3 which has a space part 2 to be a liquid chamber inside the housing and also a lower opening of which is closed in liquid-tightly sealed by a cap member 4 and a plurality of pistons 7 are arranged uniformly in an outer periphery part of a rotor 6 mounted integral on the rotary shaft 5 such that an outer periphery surface part is opposite to an inner periphery surface of the housing 3 with a designated space given to form a fluid type brake device 1. Then a roller 13 mounted on a tip part of the rotary shaft of this fluid type brake device 1 is brought into contact with a rail mounted on a bottom of a sliding type gate body to brake the gate body according to opening and closing speed of the gate body.
