Abstract:

To provide fluid valve control members having sealing outer surfaces and methods of making the same.

A fluid valve control member comprises a body portion having a sealing outer surface shaped to allow engagement with a sealing ring within a fluid control valve. A first portion 120 of the sealing outer surface has a first spherical radius 400 with respect to a first point 402 along a centerline 404 of the body portion, and a second portion of the sealing outer surface 122 has a second spherical radius 406 with respect to a second point 408 along the centerline 404 of the body portion. The first point 402 and the second point 408 are deviated from each other; the second spherical radius 406 is smaller than the first spherical radius 400; and the sealing outer surface is substantially seamless between the first portion 120 and the second portion 122.
