To realize reduction in cost with a decrease in installing area by gradually increasing the sectional area of a furnace from the lower part to the top part thereof to eliminate a cyclone or enable miniaturization.
This boiler is provided with a furnace 101 into which primary air and secondary air are introduced to form a fluidized bed using a fluidizing material and a back pass 104 which comprises a superheater for heating steam and air by a combustion gas or the like leaving the furnace 101 and an air preheater. The steam and the air are heated by the back pass 104 and the combustion gas or the like with the temperature thereof lowered to about 150°C is discharged from a stack. In this process, the furnace 101 is built with a wall surface thereof inclined outward by an angle θ (3-10°) from the vertical direction so that the sectional area thereof is gradually increased from the bottom part to the top part. This can raise the ratio of particles in the fluidizing material circulating through the furnace 101 to eliminate a cyclone thereby achieving a miniaturization of the apparatus.
