To enhance accuracy in the analysis of combustion gas by coupling a branch pipe for discharging combustion gas to the upper part of an incineration chamber and interposing a gas temperature setting section between the branch pipe and a gas analyzing means.
A gas supply means B and a power supply means 5 are operated to blow a gas containing regulated quantity of oxygen gas into a quartz tube 1, i.e., an incineration chamber 1a which is then heated up to high temperature state by means of a heater 3. Subsequently, matters S to be incinerated is dropped from an incinerating matter supply means C into the incineration chamber 1a and combustion gas 1a thereof is fed to a branch pipe 21. On the other hand, power supply to temperature gradient setting heaters 23A-23C is controlled by power supply means 24 and a temperature control means 25 at a gas temperature setting section D and the temperature at divided parts a-c is set in a plurality of stages. According to the arrangement, combustion gas passing through the branch tube 21 is managed at a desired temperature before being fed to a gas analyzing means E and analyzed.
