Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control the flow of a raw material moving between partitions easily without causing back mixing by subdividing a fluidized bed into a plurality of partitions by means of a partitioner and interconnecting the partitions through a communication tube provided with a flow control valve.
SOLUTION: A fluidized bed 7 is subdivided into four partitions 10a, 10b, 10c and 10d by means of a partitioner 9. Adjacent partitions are coupled through a communication tube 11. A raw material supplied through a supply port 2 into a fluidized bed furnace 1 is transferred from the first partition 10a through the communication tube 11 to the partition 10b while being reduced and carbonized with high temperature high pressure hydrogen and methane gases being delivered from a wind box 6 through a diffuser 5. Flow rate of fine iron oxide being transferred through the communication tube 11 can be controlled by regulating the opening of a flow control valve 13 depending on the level of the fluidized bed 7 detected by a fluidized bed level detector 12.
