To burn pyrolysis gas completely in the melting combustion furnace of a rear stage easily by a method wherein a fluidized bed type pyrolysis furnace and a treating device for matters to be burned, which prevent the generation of unburned carbon and whose combustion in a free board unit will not affect to a fluidized bed, are provided to realize the sure recovery of valuable metals through the stabilized control of the fluidized bed and restrain the generation of unburned carbon in the fluidized bed pyrolysis furnace.
In a single tower type fluidized bed pyrolysis furnace, fluidizing medium FD is filled into a furnace equipped with a gas dispersing plate 112 on the bottom unit thereof and gas is sent into the furnace from the lower part of the gas dispersing plate 112 to fluidize the fluidizing medium FD while matters to be burned are supplied into the fluidized bed under fluidized condition to gasify them through pyrolysis. Such a fluidized bed pyrolysis furnace is provided with shielding plates 11c, 11d for preventing the transfer of temperature in a free board unit to the fluidized bed FD.
