Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a fluidized bed reaction unit capable of assuredly preventing the outside air from diffusion and intrusion into the reaction tube to assuredly produce high-purity metal, nitride powder, high in safety, capable of restraining the heater and thermal insulation material from deterioration due to e.g. metallic fine powder scattering, and enabling its stable operation on an industrial scale.
CONSTITUTION: In this reaction unit designed to nitride metallic powder by heating to ≥1200°C a fluidized bed 2 composed of the metallic powder and a nonoxidative gas containing N2 or NH3, the fluidized bed 2 stands equipped with a reaction tube 1 inside, an outer cylinder 11 enclosing the reaction tube 1 so as to prevent the outside air from intrusion into the tube 1, and a heating source 9 installed outside the cylinder 11 and to heat the fluidized bed 2 to 1200°C or higher.
