Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:A compound shown by the formulaI(R1 is H or lower alkyl; R2 is halogen).
EXAMPLE: 3-Diethylamino-6-chloro-7-anilinofluoran shown by the formula II.
USE: A color producing agent for recording charts. Not causing self color development, having improved shelf stability free from coloring.
PROCESS: A diphenylamine derivative (e.g., 2-chloro-4-methoxyphenylamine, etc.) shown by the formula III (R3 is H or lower alkyl) is reacted with a ketocarboxylic acid derivative (e.g., 4-diethylamino-2-hydroxy-2'-carboxybenzophenone, etc.) shown by the formula IV(R4 is H or lower alkyl) preferably in an equimolar ratio in the presence of a dehydrating condensation agent such as conc. sulfuric acid, etc. preferably at 0W50°C for 1W50hr.
