To obtain the subject new fluorene derivative useful for chemoluminescent enzyme immunoassay as an enhancer of a chemoluminescent reaction of luminol with H2O2 using a peroxidase as a catalytic enzyme.
This new fluorene derivative is expressed by the formula I {A is a group of the formula NHC(=S)NHR1 [R1 is an alkyl, an alkenyl, a (substituted)aryl, an aralkyl, benzoyl or a heterocyclic hydrocarbon group] or the formula N=CHR2 [R2 is a lower alkyl, a (substituted) aryl or a heterocyclic group]} and is useful as an enhancer in the chemoluminescent determination of a biosubstance by using a specific antibody or antigen of the biosubstance labeled with glucose oxidase, reacting with glucose and determining the generated H2O2 by using luminol as the substrate and a peroxidase as the catalytic enzyme. The compound can be produced by reacting a 2-aminofluorene expressed by the formula II with a compound expressed by the formula R2NCS or R2CHO.
