To provide a fluorescent endoscope system and a diagnostic region image-carving method utilizing the same capable of improving the accuracy of fluorescent endoscopic diagnosis.
The system is composed of a composite light source device 10 for providing a white light or a short wavelength exciting light to the endoscope 30 and the diagnostic region 1, a color CCD camera 60 placed behind an endoscope eyepiece 40, a high speed black and white CCD camera 70, a reference test piece 200, a computer 80 and a monitor 90. Preliminary correction by the reference test piece, general endoscopic observation by the white light, simultaneous image observation and examination of the same diagnostic region by the fluorescence and the reflected exciting light, automatic correction of brightness and unevenness of the fluorescent image at the diagnostic region by the test piece sample, storage of evaluation of the fluorescence intensity at the diagnostic region, images and numerical data specifying the brightness of the fluorescence at the diagnostic region, and images received from the two cameras in the form of digital video clip and the like are performed.
