PURPOSE: To prevent a fluorescent lamp from becoming sooty, maintain the life, and shorten the starting time by preventing the evaporation and wearing of an emitter material of the filament.

CONSTITUTION: A filament 3 is fixed between a pair of inner lead wires 1, 2 supported with stem 7. A pair of C-shaped auxiliary anodes 4, 5 opening to the stem 7 are opposed each other with a small gap 6, both auxiliary anodes 4, 5 wraps the around of the filament 3 with a gap, an emitter layer is provided on the inner surfaces of the auxiliary anodes 4, 5, and both auxiliary anodes 4, 5 are connected and fixed to a pair of inner lead wires 1, 2 respectively.
