PURPOSE: To strengthen the adhesion strength of an electron emitting material and obtain a long life of the title lamp by preparing a filament which is double coiled wires consisting of one thinner tungsten wire closely coiled on the other thicker tungsten wire and impregnating an electron emitting material in the filament for using as an electrode.
CONSTITUTION: An electrode 4 is prepared by making a filament which is double coiled wires consisting of a thinner tungsten wire closedly coiled on the other thicker tungsten wire and impregnating an electron emitting material in the filament and installed in the title lamp. In this case, the thinner tungsten wire reinforces the thicker one and also have effect to enlarge the contact surface area to the electron emitting material. In this way, deformation of the filament by impact is lessened and the adhesion strength between the electron emitting material is improved and thus the electron emitting material is firmly contained in the filament. As a result, thermal cathode fluorescent lamp with a long service life is obtained.
