PURPOSE: Title composition free from the problem of environmental pollution and useful for coating copper or copper alloy substrates, prepared by adding a molybdate and, optionally, a phosphoric acid compound and filler to a fluorine-containing resin paint.

CONSTITUTION: The composition is obtained by adding to a fluorine-containing resin paint, (A) 0.01W30wt% of a molybdate, (B) 0W10wt% of a phosphoric acid compound, and (C) 0W4wt% of a filler which is (a) a solid lubricant or (b) a thermoplastic or thermosetting resin. A sliding material of fluorine-containing resin is produced by coating a copper or copper alloy substrate or by impregnating a copper net or sintered copper alloy with the composition. The fluorine-containing resin paint may be that known to the art and derived from polytetrafluoroethylene. The component (A) is, e.g., Na2 Mo O4, the component (B) is, e.g., orthophosphoric acid, the component (a) is, e.g., graphite, and the component (b) is, e.g., polyester or phenol resin.
