Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a formulation for prevention and/or treatment of pathogen infections, autoimmune diseases, or cancers, particularly a peptide vaccine formulation against these diseases with improved delivery to antigen-presenting cells.SOLUTION: The present invention provides a formulation comprising one or more fluorocarbon-linked peptides present in micelles having a diameter of less than 0.22 μm. (a) In the formulation, the fluorocarbon-linked peptide (i) is of 20 or greater amino acid residues in length, contains 50% or greater of hydrophobic amino acid residues, and has an isoelectric point of 7 or greater; (ii) contains positively charged amino acids in 15 consecutive amino acids distal to fluorocarbon; and (iii) does not contain a continuous sequence of 20 amino acid residues containing more than 80% hydrophobic amino acid residues. (b) The formula is (i) in a dried form that can form a clear aqueous solution when it is solubilized or (ii) a clear aqueous solution produced by a method including a step of solubilizing the fluorocarbon-linked peptide in acetic acid.SELECTED DRAWING: None
