PURPOSE: To obtain a fluorocopolymer with a β-ketoester group which gives a coating compsn. excellent in affinity for a pigment, adhesion to a substrate, repairability by recoating, etc., by forming a fluorocopolymer comprising specific monomer units.

CONSTITUTION: This copolymer comprises monomer units of formulas I, II, III, and IV (wherein X is H, F, Cl, trifluoromethyl, or a 1-3C perfluoroalkoxy; R1, R6, and R8 are each H or methyl; R2 is a 2-10C optionally substd. or optionally fluorinated alkylene; R3, R4 and R5 are each H or a 1-3C alkylene; R7 is a 1-12C optionally fluorinated alkyl; R9 is a 1-12C optionally fluorinated alkylene; and k, h, m, n, p, and q are 0 or 1) in molar ratios of unit II/unit I, unit III/unit I, and unit IV/unit I of 0.01-1, 0-1.5, and 0.01-1, respectively.
