Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a fluoropolymer composition giving a cured object excellent in chemical resistance, weatherability, tensile strength, tensile elongation, etc., by compounding a,polyfunctional compound with a specific fluoropolymer and a radical generator in a given proportion.
CONSTITUTION: A polyfunctional compound (A) such as triallyl isocyanurate, N,N'-m-phenylenebismaleimide, or diallyl phthalate is mixed with an ingredient (B) consisting of an iodinated and/or brominated fluoropolymer (e.g. a vinylidene fluoride/tetrafluoroethylene copolymer having an iodine atom at each end) and a blend thereof and with a radical generator (C) (e.g. dicumyl peroxide), the amount of the ingredient (A) being 17-99wt.% based on the sum of the ingredients (A) and (B) and the amount of the ingredient (C) being preferably 0.001-10 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. the sum of the ingredients (A) and (B). Thus, the objective composition is obtained which is suitable for use in applications including a molding material, a paint, and an adhesive.
