Title:
FLUORSCENT LAMP
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS54142878
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To eliminate light beam from reducing and to improve the light emitting efficiency of a fluorescent lamp by implanting a bar electrode electrically floated into a stem to protrude the end of the electrode from cathode toward discharging part side and filling inert gas having larger atomic weight than mercury, and argon.

CONSTITUTION: An electrically floated bar electrode 3 is implanted into a stem 2 disposed at both ends of a glass tube to protrude the end thereof from a filament toward the discharging path side longer tha 10mm. Linear or plate-like electrode 1 is added to the end of the electrode 3 from filament coil toward the discharging path side. The glass tube is filled with mixture gas of mercury and argon, and inert gas such a krypton or the like having larger atomic weight than argon. Thus, it minimizes the decrease of the light beam from lamp to thereby reduce the lamp power so as to improve the light emitting efficiency. When suitable metal wire or plate is attached to the end of the electrde 3, it further improve the effect.
