To provide a constitutionally simple flush gate which dispenses with external power such as hydraulic pressure and electric power under abnormal conditions, and which can be maintained without involving a risk.
This flush gate is equipped with an attitude switching mechanism which releases a valve body 2 and a holding portion in such a manner as to be interlocked with a float 30 which moves upward and downward in accordance with a water level when reaching a flush performance water level, and which allows the valve body to be tilted and turned into a reversed attitude by the pushing force of the water. A base portion of the valve body 2 is journaled on right and left structures on or near the bottom of a water channel, so that the valve body 2 can freely swing between the raised water-sealing attitude of closing the water channel and the reversed attitude of opening the water channel. The holding portion holds the valve body 2 in the raised water-sealing attitude against the pushing force of the water until the upstream-side water level of the water channel rises up to the flush performance water level. The flush gate is also equipped with an auxiliary mechanism 70 which increases the force of releasing the holding portion by the float 30, when the water level rises.
