To provide a low-cost brazing method which is a method for brazing an aluminum material without using flux inside an inert gas atmosphere furnace, has excellent junction properties, and can be applied to the brazing of a heat exchanger or the like for an automobile needing stable fillet formation capability.
In this method for brazing the aluminum material without flux in an inert gas atmosphere, the aluminum material is a brazing sheet where an aluminum alloy brazing material containing 6-13% Si and 0.05-0.4% Mg, also containing one or more of 0.05-0.3% Zr, 0.05-0.2% Ce, 0.01-0.04% Be, and 0.005-0.03% Ca, and comprising residual aluminum and inevitable impurities is cladded on one side or both sides of a core material consisting of an Al-Mn-based aluminum alloy. The brazing is performed while forming a spinel type compound inside an oxide film of the brazing material surface during brazing heating to embrittle the oxide film.
