Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide an accelerating means capable of shooting out a flying body at super high speed at low running cost without requiring huge equipment.
CONSTITUTION: High voltage charge in a capacitor 24 is applied to a primary coil to let a pulse like primary current flow, and an induction current in the reverse direction to the primary current is generated to a conductive cylindrical liner 26 positioned inside the primary coil. The liner 26 is thereby compressed rapidly inward in the radial direction, and a flying body 30 conductively interposed at the cut place of a cylindrical part in the liner 26 is shot out at high speed toward the center of the liner 26 by electromagnetic acceleration. The pulse like primary current is let flow to the first coil, and the induction current in the reverse direction to the primary current is generated to a conductive cylindrical gas closed container positioned inside the primary coil. The container is thereby compressed rapidly inward in the radial direction, and the flying body charged in the container is shot out at high speed to the outside of the container by the compressive force of gas filled in the container.
