Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a flying disc game, wherein the pleasure of taking party in the game is boosted by throwing out and catching a disc, using a sword-like instrument having a lengthwise-extending flat blade insertable into a groove formed between a standard disc and a smaller diametral disc-like element. CONSTITUTION: Blade 28 of a flying/catching instrument is insertable into groove 30 formed between both disc elements 14, 16, and disk 10 is turnable along the blade 28 as if a flanged wheel gets on and rolls on a rail. When the disc is throwing out for flying, the flying/catching instrument is swung, with its grip 26 held in a hand so that the disc 10 may be given centrifugal force at the time it is released from the blade 28, whereby the disc is rendered both sufficient linear and rotational speeds to generate aerodynamic force necessary for flying. To catch the flying disc, the catcher also with flying/catching instrument 12 held in a hand attempt to insert the blade 28 into the groove 30 between two disc elements 14, 16 while the disc is still flying in the air, whereby he may be allowed to catch the disc, followed by drawing the disc 10 closer to himself in a smooth manner to decelerate its rotation and finally stopping it.
