The flying object 100 includes: a body 110; a propeller for propelling the body 110 in a travelling direction; a solar cell film that is a film-shaped solar cell; and a storage unit for storing the solar cell film while connecting one end of the solar cell film. The body 110 includes: a storage driver 188 for driving the storage unit to develop the solar cell film from the storage unit backward in the travelling direction, while the one end of the solar cell film is connected to the storage unit; an energy storage unit 170 for storing the electric power generated by the solar cell film; and a propeller driver 184 for driving the propeller by the use of the electric power generated by the solar cell film or the electric power stored in the energy storage unit 170.
