To provide flywheel generating facilities which allow testing facilities to be operated for a long time period while suppressing an increase in a rotational energy amount capable of being accumulated by a flywheel generator.
According to one embodiment, flywheel generating facilities have a flywheel for accumulating rotational energy and comprise a flywheel generator which converts the rotational energy to power and supplies the power to testing facilities. Further, the generating facilities comprise: a driving motor for rotating the flywheel; and a power supply device for supplying the power to the driving motor. Still further, the generating facilities comprise: a detector for outputting a signal related to rotation of the flywheel; and a controlling device for controlling operation of the driving motor on the basis of the signal output. Furthermore, the controlling device controls the operation of the driving motor such that the driving motor gives acceleration torque to the flywheel during a stop of power supply to the testing facilities and during the power supply to the testing facilities.
