Abstract:
PURPOSE:To increase the judder resistance and corrosion resistance of a flywheel and a pressure plate, by applying a coating layer of zinc having a thickness of 5-30mum over the surfaces of the flywheel and the pressure plate. CONSTITUTION:Zinc is spray coated over the surface of a flywheel and a pressure plate, both made of cast iron, until the thickness of the coating layer reaches 5-10mum. On the other hand, asbestos yarn is impregnated with a mixture of a melamine resin and a phenolic resin and then dried. The half-product thus obtained is hardened in a metal mold with application of heat and pressure and then its surfaces are polished, whereby it is enabled to obtain a clutch facing.
