Abstract:
To provide a foamed fiber that is an alternative to down.SOLUTION: The foamed fiber is made of a thermoplastic resin composition including an olefin resin and has no cut surfaces in the longitudinal direction of the fiber. The maximum diameter of a widthwise cross-section of the foamed fiber is 3 mm or less, the basis weight is 1.0 to 120 g/m, and the down power measured by the following method is 100 cm/g or more. (A method for measuring a down power) A 30 g foamed resin is placed in a container of 29 cm in inner diameter and 60 cm in height while letting it fall freely, and a 94.3 g disc is placed thereon. Then, 2 minutes later, a height from the inside of the bottom surface of the container (surface on the bottom surface side of the container) to the inside of the disc is measured to calculate the volume, and a down power is obtained by the volume and the mass of the foamed fiber.SELECTED DRAWING: None
