PURPOSE: To obtain a foaming agent capable of producing foam excellent in stability and uniformity by blending an anion surfactant composed of an alkali salt of sulfated material of a higher alcohol ethylene oxide addition compound with an alcohol ethylene oxide addition compound.
CONSTITUTION: A compound (B) expressed by the formula II (R' is 1-4C alkyl, ((m) is 1 or 2) is blended by 5-100 pts.wt. to 100 pts.wt. compound (A) expressed by the formula I (R is alkyl group, in which 8C is 20-70%, 10C is 20-70% and the total of 8C and 10C is ≥90% (n) is average 0.5-3.0 and M is univalent alkali metal, ammonium or alkanol ammonium). The component (A) is obtained by blending the 8C higher alcohol with the 10C higher alcohol in a specific ratio, adding 0.5-3.0mol ethylene oxide, sulfating the obtained compound with a sulfating agent such as chlorosulfonic acid or the like and next, neutralizing with caustic soda or the like. In this case, the ratio of 8C to 10C is preferably about 1:1.
