Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continuously process a waste of bulky foamed polyurethane to be compressed into a high-density material.SOLUTION: A foamed polyurethane volume reduction apparatus including an extrusion machine having a port for charging foamed polyurethane, and a reaction vessel for reacting the foamed polyurethane and a chemical agent, has a chemical injection port through which a chemical agent is injected into the foamed polyurethane compressed in the extrusion machine. It is desirable to use, as the extrusion machine, a screw extrusion machine with a spiral screw having protrusions and recesses.
