Abstract:

To provide a focal-plane shutter and an optical device which prevent variation in exposure time.

A focal-plane shutter includes: a substrate having an aperture; a front curtain and a rear curtain which open and close the aperture; a rear curtain actuator which drives the rear curtain; a drive component which drives the rear curtain when receiving power from the rear curtain actuator; and a buffer component which comes into contact with the drive component when the rear curtain is retracted from the aperture. During charging operation, the rear curtain actuator causes the drive component being in contact with the buffer component to be separated from the buffer component, and brings the drive component into contact with the buffer component again. Then, the rear curtain actuator starts exposure operation.
