Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a focal plane shutter and an optical device that suppress an increase in an error of an exposure period.SOLUTION: The focal plane shutter comprises: a substrate that has an opening; a curtain that opens/closes the opening; an electromagnet that includes an iron core and a coil magnetizing the iron core; and a drive lever that holds an iron piece absorbable to the iron core, in which the iron piece is movable so as to connect and disconnect to/from the iron core, and drives the curtain. The iron core and the iron piece are treated by plating, and the plating of the iron piece is higher in Vickers hardness than that of the iron core. A difference in the Vickers hardness between the plating of the iron piece and the plating of the iron core is 100 HV or more.
