Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a focal plane shutter having suppressed damage to curtains, and an optical device.SOLUTION: A focal plane shutter comprises: a first substrate that has a first aperture formed; a first curtain that includes a plurality of first blades, and closes the first aperture while facing the first substrate so as to transit from an overlapping state where the plurality of first blades overlaps each other to a spreading state where the overlapped first blades spread; and a drive member that is coupled to a root part of the first curtain and causes the first curtain to travel.
