Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve the reduction of a dimension in a breadthwise direction of a base plane in a focal plane shutter including a blade driving mechanism, a charge driving mechanism, and so on.SOLUTION: A focal plane shutter comprises: a base plate 10 having an aperture for exposure; blade members 40 and 50 provided so as to be freely movable along a principal surface S of the base plate; a blade driving mechanism M1 including driving members 60 and 80 urged in one direction to drive the blade members and a set member 110 which can charge the driving members to a set position before shutter operation against urging force and is urged to return to a rest position after attracting and holding the driving members in the set position by an electromagnet; and a charge driving mechanism M2 which makes the set member perform a charge operation. The blade driving mechanism M1 and the charge driving mechanism M2 are disposed so as to overlap with each other in a direction L perpendicular to the principal surface S of the base plate in one side part of the base plate, whereby the reduction in width and size can be achieved.
