PURPOSE: To obtain a fog correcting control means for an image by providing a transfer intermediate body whose nonimage region has the formation of a light transmission region, and detecting the concentration of toner transferred on the light transmission region of the transfer intermediate body.
CONSTITUTION: A transfer intermediate body 5 is composed of an image forming region 5a where carbon is dispersed on a film material, and an endless belt on which a light transmission region 5b capable of transmitting light is formed over the full arc of the nonimage region of one side end part of the transfer intermediate body 5. A transmission type photosensor 52 is provided so as to measure the transmission light quantity of the light transmission region 5b, thereon. A toner image formed on a photosensitive body is transferred on the transfer intermediate body 5, and stuck to the light transmission region 5b, as well. At this time, the light transmission quantity of the light transmission region 5b is detected by the photosensor 52, and the toner concentration is obtained from the quantity of the detection. Then. the correction voltage of a copy lamp is calculated from the relation of a fog toner concentration set in advance and the correction voltage of the copy lamp.
