Title:
FOLDABLE PING-PONG TABLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3443577
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foldable ping-pong table that can easily expand and fold the right and left top boards with high security, and that aged persons, children or even physically disabled persons can handle with ease.
SOLUTION: Gas dumpers 7, 7' are contracted when the top boards 1, 1' are in an expanded position supported horizontally by the supporting legs 5, 5'. When the top boards 1, 1' are turned in the folded direction from this position the gas dumpers 7, 7' are stretched to energize both top boards to turn. By this energizing force both top boards rise up with the front surfaces facing each other and the supporting legs 5, 5' transform in the folded position rising up along the back surface of the top boards 1, 1', enabling a significant reduction of the efforts required for folding the boards. When both top boards 1, 1' in folded position are turned in the expanding direction the gas dumpers 7, 7' are contracted and transformed into an expanded position by the weight of the top boards; however, the snapping force of the gas dumper absorbs and buffers the weight of each top board and enables a significant increase in the safety of the expanding work as well as a reduction of the noise caused when expanding the boards.
