To provide a convergent-type folding chair foldable in a rod form which has an armrest member not supported by another member from an intermediate part to the front end thereof.

The folding chair includes: a structure of a pair of lateral legs; a structure of a pair of seating face supports; a structure of a pair of armrests; and a structure of two front and rear connections for connecting these structures together. Each of the lateral leg structures includes a first lateral crossing member in which the lower half part of configures a front leg and the upper half part configures a backrest supporting part, and a second lateral crossing member in which a part near the upper end is turnably connected to an intermediate part of the first lateral crossing member and which configures a rear leg. Each of the seating face supporting structures includes a front column body turnably connected to a part near the upper end of the first lateral crossing member and being expanded and contracted, and a seating face supporting member in which the part-to-front-end is turnably connected to the upper end of the front column body and the back end is turnably and slidably connected to the part near the upper end of the second lateral crossing member. A section between the back end of each of the armrest structures and an intermediate part thereof is supported by either or both of the lateral leg structures, and a section from the intermediate part to the front end thereof is not supported by another member.
