PURPOSE: To feed a signature to a next step side surely and smoothly so as to improve the work efficiency of machine by movement controlling a guide plate from being apart form an impeller at the low speed operation of conveyer.

CONSTITUTION: When a device is operated at a low speed upon start-up, a guide plate 1 is moved to be apart from an impeller 7 by a pneumatic cylinder 15. Since a guide plate 1 is positioned at a position apart form a side of the impeller 7, printing sheets 10 transferred on a conveyer 8 at a low speed are folded by a crank chopper 5 when they abut against a front abutting plate 4, and a signature 10a is introduced into a gap in the impeller 7 without interference between the signature 10a and the guide plate 1 even if it is introduced into the impeller 7 side from a folding roller 6 side while it is being shifted forwards. When the conveyor 8 has a specified high speed condition after the lapse of specified time, the guide plate 1 is moved to the original position by driving the pneumatic cylinder 15, and accordingly the signalture 10a dropping form the folding roller 6 side at a high speed is guided to a slant facd of the guide plate 1 and introduced into the impeller side 7.
