To secure the safety of a folded furniture piece such as a chair by preventing the accidental opening and to reduce the storage space for the furniture by storing the furniture in the floating state from a floor.
An inverted U-shaped backrest part 3, a chair base part 1 with a front leg part 5 and a seat part 30 are attached with a shaft 50 foldably. A rear leg part 40 in the shape fitting the lower part of the chair base part 1, crossing the seat part 30, is rotatably attached to the chair base part 1 to make the chair 60. An operating member 17 from which a hook 25 projects is stored in a storage part 10 of the chair base part 1. The chair 60 is folded (b), and the folded state can be maintained (a) by restraining the rotation of the seat part 30 by raising the hook 25 and locking a locking projection 23 of the operating member 17 to a notch 36 in the seat part 30. Then, by hanging the hook 25 on a pipe in a closet, the chair can be stored. By lowering the hook 25 and releasing the lock of the locking projection 23 and the notch 36 (b), the chair is developed as an ordinary folding chair to be used as a chair.
