To provide a folding leg for music stand which is smoothly operated from a close state to an open state in a folding tripod for music stand.

A stationary seat fixed to the end of a supporting post and a moving seat sliding along the supporting post are disposed by utilizing a link mechanism and one end of the leg is pivotally carried at the stationary seat. The other end of a transmission rod which is pivotally carried at one end at the moving seat is pivotally carried in the intermediate position of the leg so that the opening action of the leg is transmitted to the moving seat. When the leg is completely close, the pivotally attached point of the leg and the transmission rod is made to exist in the position separated from a straight line connected to the pivotally attached position of the leg and the stationary leg and the pivotal carrying position of the moving rod and the moving seat.
